  • JONES, THOMAS (1860 - 1932), farmer and poet published Caneuon, 1902; Beirdd Uwchaled [an anthology of the poets of that region], 1930; and Pitar Paw, 1932. He wrote the life of John Jones of Glan-y-gors for the 2nd imp. of Seren Tan Gwmwl, 1923, and some of his writings are to be found in Cymru (O.M.E.), Gen., Yr Haul, etc. He was an authority on setting penillion to the accompaniment of the harp.
  • JONES, THOMAS LLOYD (Gwenffrwd; 1810 - 1834), poet August 1834. It was from Philadelphia that he sent the poem ' Syniadau ar y Môr ' which was published in Seren Gomer, August 1833. He sent a poem (which did not win a prize) in memory of his patron Archdeacon Beynon to the Gwent and Dyfed royal eisteddfod at Cardiff 1834, but he died four days before the eisteddfod opened.

He served for many years as editor of the Welsh Baptist weekly, Seren Cymru, and assisted the aged Reverend E. Cefni Jones when he was editing the Welsh Baptist hymnbook, Llawlyfr Moliant Newydd, which was published in 1956. Five of his own hymns and a vesper were included in the hymn book.   • LLEWELLYN, THOMAS (1720? - 1783), Baptist minister and tutor University of Aberdeen. He is best remembered for his efforts to secure for his fellow-countrymen a constant supply and distribution of Welsh Bibles. He published Historical Account of the British or Welsh Versions and Editions of the Bible, 1768, translated into Welsh in Seren Gomer, 1815, and Historical and Critical Remarks on the British Tongue, 1769 (both reprinted together in 1793 under the title of
  • LLOYD, GRIFFITH RICHARD MAETHLU (1902 - 1995), college principal and minsister (B) and history, and during ecumenical discussions in the 1960s he argued strongly in favour preserving Baptist identity and order. His publications are few - mostly addresses and the occasional essay in Seren Gomer - but all testify to a penetrating, analytical mind. He outlived his wife by two years and died on 6 March, 1995, and he was buried in the graveyard of Pencarneddi chapel in Anglesey.

He married (1789) Bridget Price of Rhydcolomennod (Llangrannog, Cardiganshire), and they had eight children. He took considerable interest in improved methods of farming.
