WILLIAMS, JOHN (1854 - 1921), Calvinistic Methodist minister Born at Cae'r-gors, Llandyfrydog, Anglesey, 24 December 1854; his father, John Williams, hailed from the neighbourhood of Mynydd y Garn, and his mother, Jane Rowlands, from Cemaes. When he was nine, his parents removed to Beaumaris, and there (1871) he went to the grammar school kept first by John Evans and afterwards by Hugh Williams (1843 - 1911). WILLIAMS, JOHN (Ioan ap Ioan; 1800 - 1871), Baptist minister and author Born at Trwyn-swch, Llanddoged, Denbighshire, 1800, son of John and Jane Williams. He was baptized at Llanrwst, where his mother was a member, and started to preach at the age of 25 at Cefnbychan, where he kept school. PARRY, JOHN (1770 - 1820), poet Born 29 June 1770 in a farm called Y Wern, near Llanelian, Denbighshire. He may be the John Parry, son of Edward and Catherine Parry, whose christening is recorded on 31 August 1770 in the bishops' transcripts for the parish of Llanelian.
