VAUGHAN family Pant Glas, younger son of Robert ap Rhys; in his will (1534), Robert ap Rhys left his Dol-gynwal lands to ' Thomas Vichan ap Robert ap Rice.' This Thomas Vaughan was twice married, and the following line is descended from his second marriage, with Catherine Conway of Bryn Euryn, whose will was proved in 1588; as William Llyn (died 1580) wrote an elegy on him, he too must have died before 1580. VAUGHAN family Corsygedol, already been on friendly terms. Their eldest son, GRIFFITH VAUGHAN, died without issue in 1697; the second son, RICHARD VAUGHAN (died 1734), maintained the line. VAUGHAN family Bredwardine, , 1566 and 1570. The latter married Catherine, daughter of Sir Thomas Johnes of Abermarlais, and bought the estate of Fallerstone, Wiltshire. His heir, Sir WALTER VAUGHAN (knighted 27 June 1603) died 4 June 1637, and was buried at Tenby. VAUGHAN family Porthaml, of Moccas, and Elizabeth, his grandson, Rowland Vaughan.) He died before 1553, for his wife, Catherine, daughter of Jenkin Havard, was living in widowhood at White Peyton when she received a pardon on 6 May of that year for being accessory to a murder. VAUGHAN, ARTHUR OWEN (Owen Rhos-comyl; 1863? - 1919), adventurer and author professional historians. He married Catherine Lois (Katherine Louisa) de Geere on the bank of the river Vaal c. 21 December 1900. His certificate of marriage was lost when he was admitted to hospital. She died at Penarth in 1927. He died 15 October 1919 at a London nursing-home, aged 56 as it is said. He was buried in Maeshyfryd cemetery, Diserth Road, Rhyl.
VAUGHAN, EDWARD (d. 1661), Master of the Bench of the Inner Temple A fairly exhaustive account of his career is given by Rees L. Lloyd; what follows here is only a summary. VAUGHAN, ROBERT (1592? - 1667), antiquary, collector of the famous Hengwrt library , that he spent some time at Oswestry. The date of his marriage to Catherine (1594 - 1663), daughter of Griffith Nanney (born 1568) is not known, but he was living at Gwengraig in 1624 and it is likely that he settled at Hengwrt soon after his marriage. VAUGHAN, WILLIAM HUBERT (1894 - 1959), railway guard and chairman of the Welsh Land Settlement Society Born 21 March 1894, son of Henry Charles and Catherine Vaughan, Rogerstone, Monmouthshire. He was educated at the Eastern School, Port Talbot, and, like his father and two brothers, was employed on the railway, where he served for 51 years, 34 of them as a guard. VINCENT family of Bangor, rector of Llandwrog, Caernarfonshire, and became rector of Llanfachraeth in 1763. He had several daughters, of whom one, JANE (1751 - 1812) married her cousin, an army officer named JOHN JONES, son of Owen Jones of Penychen (Aber-erch), canon of Bangor, by Catherine, daughter of the Rev. WAITHMAN, ROBERT (1764 - 1833), lord mayor of London Born at Wrexham in 1764, the son of John Waithman, of Warton, Lancashire, a joiner at the Bersham furnace, and of his wife, Mary (Roberts).
