NORTH, FREDERICK JOHN (1889 - 1968), geologist, educator, historian of science and museum curator of the Association's first Diploma, member of the Joint Committee with the Carnegie United Kingdom Trust; he was also a member of the National Co-operative Body for Museums for UNESCO. He was above all an ardent educator and proselytizer of his subject, an indefatigable lecturer, reviewer and annalist. NOVELLO, IVOR (1893 - 1951), composer, playwright, stage and film actor 'We'll gather lilacs'.
