THOMAS, JOHN (Siôn Wyn o Eifion; 1786 - 1859), poet Born at Chwilog, in the parish of Llanarmon, Caernarfonshire. His father was Thomas Roberts, brother of Siôn Lleyn (John Roberts, 1749 - 1817), poet. When Siôn Wyn was 9 years of age he met with an accident, being crushed between a cart and a wall near his home. WILLIAMS, JOHN ELLIS (1901 - 1975), author and dramatist cyfoes (1961), and an autobiography, Inc yn fy ngwaed (1963). A festschrift edited by Meredydd Evans, Gwr wrth grefft (1974), has a bibliography. Both books contain photographs of J. Ellis Williams. J. He wrote very little in the classical forms of poetry, but he was the author of the englynion in praise of the writer of Meddylieu Neilltuol ar Grefydd, 1717, and that in praise of his literary friend, Iaco ab Dewi (James Davies, 1648 - 1722).
WILLIAMS, THOMAS (Brynfab; 1848 - 1927), littérateur and farmer literature he was granted a Civil List pension. He was a prominent member of 'Clic y Bont,' an interesting literary coterie at Pontypridd that included Carnelian, Glanffrwd, and Dewi Alaw.
