Son of Raff ap Robert. In a cywydd composed in 1602 when he had grown old he refers to the battle of S. Quentin, 1557, as though he had been actually present. It is stated in N.L.W. MS. 5282 that he was a blind poet, but there is no reference to this elsewhere. His poems are mainly in praise of the landowning families of the Vale of Clwyd; they also include elegies on Siôn Tudur, 1602, and Simwnt Fychan, 1606. Llanst. MS. 36 contains a collection of his work.
