son of a poet and a native, presumably, of South Wales. Nothing is known of his life, but some of his poetry remains in manuscript. This includes englynion in praise of Gruffudd Dwnn's mansion in Ystrad Merthyr (Llanst. MS. 40 (60)), a cywydd written to Sir Harry ap Sir Thomas Johns of Abermarlais (Llanst. MS. 30 (444)), and another to Sir John Perrot (see the article on the family) of Pembrokeshire (Llanst. MS. 30 (447)).
