She published one serial in Y Cymro in 1896, 'Catrin Prisiard', which did not appear later as a book. For a time in 1895-96 she corresponded with John Glyn Davies mainly on literary matters. ' poems (Bangor MS. 3212 (564)); born at Llanycil, Meironnydd, son of David Thomas and Lowry Cadwaladr. He kept a school at Dwyryd near Corwen, and at Tre'rddôl (this in 1740). The ' Piser ' was gathered together in the years 1733-45, the main corpus being country songs and plygain carols, composed by homely bards of Penllyn and Edeirnion, the district of Cerrig-y-drudion

Ivon was regarded as an authority on the history of Aberystwyth and on the folklore of the district. He published gleanings and articles in Cymru (O.M.E.), particularly from 1894 till his death. Paul's epistles; this latter manuscript found its way from Llannerch, the home of Gruffydd ap Ieuan and afterwards of his Davies (of Llannerch) descendants, to Gwysaney, Flintshire, the home of the Davies-Cooke family, also descendants.
