Mal
Evans was born at 62, Rees Street, Gelli in the Rhondda on 8 November 1937, the son of Clifford ('Cliff') Maldwyn Evans (1904-1985) and his wife Haulwen, née Evans, (1905-1993). He rose to fame in June 1972 when he was crowned world singles bowls champion on the outdoor greens at Worthing, Sussex.
