  • HUGHES, ROBERT GWILYM (1910 - 1997), poet and minister with the Welsh Calvinistic Methodist denomination loved music (he was a skilled pianist), and his daughter, Carys Hughes (1949-2004), who died prematurely, was a professional organist. Gwilym Hughes died 20 July 1997. After a service at Engedi chapel Caernarfon and he was laid to rest in the new Bangor City Cemetery. He left a wife and three sons and a daughter to mourn.
  • JOHN, GEORGE (1918 - 1994), minister (Bapt) and college principal were born to them: Delyth Margaret and Carys Elisabeth. In 1971 he was appointed professor of New Testament Studies in the Baptist College in Bangor, succeeding D. Eirwyn Morgan as head of the College in 1980. They had one daughter, Carys (b. 1937) and one son, Gareth Wyn (b. 1940). During the intense bombing of Liverpool in the Second World War, the family moved first to Enid's parents' house in Old Colwyn
