NICHOLAS, THOMAS EVAN
(Niclas y Glais; 1879 - 1971), poet, minister of religion and advocate for the Communist Party
well as a farmer. The boy was reared in an independent, cultured and anti-establishment community. A younger contemporary was D.J. Davies, born in the small holding to which the Nicholas family moved in 1880, and who became the minister of Capel Als, Llanelli. Another from the same area was Thomas

, pioneer of the Labour Party and of adult education and Principal of Bala-Bangor College. T.E
NICHOLSON, WILLIAM
(1844 - 1885), Independent minister
Rhos-lan and Llanystymdwy churches, and was ordained, 20 August 1867. He stayed there some two years and then moved to Treflys church, Bethesda. In 1872 he received a call from the celebrated Groes-wen church, Glamorganshire, where he remained until 1876 when he succeeded Gwilym Hiraethog (William
Rees
) at Grove Street, Liverpool. Here he died, July 1885, at the age of 41, he was buried in Toxteth

Ormsby-Gore was born in London on 20 May 1918, the second son of William George Arthur Ormsby-Gore (1885-1964), fourth Baron Harlech, landowner and politician, and his wife Lady Beatrice Edith Mildred (née Gascoigne-Cecil, 1891-1980), a daughter of the fourth Marquess of Salisbury. His older brother and the barony of Harlech's heir presumptive, Owen Gerard Cecil Ormsby-Gore (1916-1935) died
