PARRY, EDGAR WILLIAMS (1919 - 2011), surgeon Edgar Parry was born on 1 May 1919 in the Post Office, Salem, Betws Garmon, Caernarfonshire, the second child of Gruffydd Henry Parry, a farmer of Hafod y Rhug, Llanrug, and his wife Helena Parry (née Williams). PARRY, HENRY (1766? - 1854), cleric and antiquary Born c. 1766, son of Henry Parry, Brynllech, Llanuwchllyn, Meironnydd. He was educated at Jesus College, Oxford (matriculated 1 June 1786, aged 20; B.A. 1790). He was vicar of Llanasa, Flintshire, for a long period, namely from 1798 until 1854; he also served as rural dean and, on 3 May 1833, became a canon of St Asaph. PARRY, JAMES RHYS (fl. 1570?-1625?), poet and author of a Welsh metrical version of the Psalms information is given by James Parry's son, George Parry, himself the author of another version; the son says that the father was a well-born layman of Ewias Lacy in Herefordshire, a patron of poets and himself a distinguished one - he calls his father 'Eos Eyas.' PARRY, JOHN (Bardd Alaw; 1776 - 1851), musician stage in 1842 for the concert-room, and in 1850 he came out as an entertainer. He gave this up in 1853 for health reasons, and became organist of S. Jude's church, Southsea. He joined Thomas German Reed, musician and entertainer, in 1860, but retired in 1869 owing to ill health. PARRY, JOSEPH (1744 - 1826), painter and engraver Manchester.' Another of his pictures, ' Eccles Wake,' contains 200 figures - all separate studies from nature. He was also a portrait painter and etched a fine portrait of himself, only ten impressions of which were taken. He died in Manchester in 1826.
