A native of Rhosllannerchrugog, Denbighshire. She became well known for her travels in foreign lands. She spent a fairly long time in Palestine and in Morocco. A selection of her letters from Palestine to her family were published as Llythyrau Cymraes o Wlad Canaan, 1869, and a description of her experiences in Morocco appeared under the title, Morocco a'r hyn a welais yno, 1883.
She settled in Australia, and married a farmer from that country called Josey. She died 18 October 1902 in Redbank Plains, Queensland, Australia.
