Son of Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, and a co-ruler of Powys at the close of the 11th cent. As vassal of Robert of Montgomery he was involved in the rebellion of 1102. His desertion caused the collapse of the rising, and when he did not receive the whole of the Montgomery inheritance in Wales, as he had hoped, he became troublesome to the Crown, and was imprisoned in 1103. Released in 1110 to deal with his nephews, he met his death at the hands of one of these younger relatives, viz. Madog ap Rhiryd, in the following year. He left no descendants.
