son of the poet Tudur Penllyn of Caer-gai. Much of his work remains in manuscript, and this includes poems written to members of the Abertanad, Mold, Ynys-ymaengwyn, and Gwydir families, another addressed to Dafydd ab Owain, abbot of Strata Marcella, a satire on Flint, and satirical englynion forming part of the bardic controversy, or ymryson, between Guto'r Glyn and Ieuan.
