son of David Pennant of Bychton near Holywell, Flints., and brother of Thomas Pennant, abbot of Basingwerk. Some of his poems, all vaticinatory, exist in manuscript. Pen. MS. 182, written by ‘Syr’ Huw himself c. 1514, includes, among other items, genealogies, poetry, and his Welsh translation of the Latin text of a life of S. Ursula.
