GRIFFITH, DAVID (Clwydfardd; 1800 - 1894), eisteddfodic bard and arch-druid
GRIFFITH, JOHN OWEN (Ioan Arfon; 1828 - 1881), poet and critic Clwydfardd, Ceiriog, Llew Llwyfo and Elidirfab. Daniel Owen wrote an elegy upon him in the Geninen, 1883, 143.
PRYSE, ROBERT JOHN (Gweirydd ap Rhys; 1807 - 1889), man of letters style. None of them succeeded in doing so, but his efforts are probably the most worthy. CATHERINE PRICHARD (Buddug; 1842 - 1909), poet Poetry Daughter of Gweirydd ap Rhys. Born at Cae-crin, Llanrhyddlad, Anglesey, 4 July 1842. She was admitted to the bardic order by Clwydfardd at the Denbigh eisteddfod, 1860, and was given the name Buddug, a name which she had made use of in Udgorn Cymru when
WILLIAMS, DANIEL (1878 - 1968), minister (Meth.) and author Assembly held in Llandeilo. In 1909 he married Annie Bartley Griffith, granddaughter of the Archdruid ' Clwydfardd ' (David Griffith, 1800 - 1894), at Ebenezer chapel, Llandudno and they had three sons and a daughter. He died 17 March 1968 at his home, Bronygarth, Wynn Avenue, Old Colwyn, and following a private service at Bethesda Chapel, Old Colwyn, his remains were cremated at Colwyn Bay Crematorium.
