He was an exhorter with the Calvinistic Methodists near Pembrey, Carmarthenshire. In 1786 he published a hymnbook under the title Hymnau a Chaniadau Duwiol, ar fesurau hen a newydd; gyd a phrofiadau ysgrythurol er cadarnhad i'r gwirionedd (Carmarthen, 1786).
