Born 11 October 1793, possibly in north Wales. In 1800 she emigrated with her parents to U.S.A. The family settled in Clinton, New York, and she spent most of her life, from the age of 10 onwards, as a maid servant. She exhibited considerable skill at composing poetry, and a collection of her works was edited by A. Potter and published in New York in 1839 under the title, Wales and other Poems. She died 11 September 1868 at Rhinebeck, New York.
