Born 29 December 1818 at Blaenavon, Monmouthshire; his father came from the Mynydd-bach district, Swansea; his mother had French connections. He began to preach in 1843, and received a call to minister to Dinas Mawddwy and its district; there he was ordained 27 April 1848. He died 8 April 1880, and was buried in Dinas Mawddwy cemetery. He published Cofiant a Phregethau … D. Milton Davies (Llanfyllin, 1871). He is best known as the secretary of Bala Independent College from 1869 to 1876, the most troubled period in all its history.
