Born at Amlwch in 1821. After working in the Parys Mountain copper-works, he went to several schools; he began to preach in 1844 and entered Bala C.M. College in 1845. He was for six years a missioner at Mancot, Flintshire, where he also kept school. In 1853 he returned to Amlwch, where his wife kept a shop down to 1863. Ordained in 1857, he accepted in 1864 a pastorate at Amlwch Port; he resigned his charge in 1884. He was a popular preacher in all parts of Wales, and a diligent contributor to periodicals; but he is best remembered for his history of Calvinistic Methodism in Anglesy - Methodistiaeth Môn, 1888. At the time of his death (18 October 1889), he was moderator of the North Wales C.M. Association. A biography, with a selection of his sermons, by his brother Thomas Prichard, was published in 1898.
