Born 1872. He represented Wales sixteen times between 1906 and 1911, either as an outside half or wing three-quarter, and in 1910 he scored one of his country's two tries when Wales played at Twickenham for the first time. Gibbs was also in the Cardiff team that, with E. Gwyn Nicholls as captain gained the historic victory over the South African side in 1906. He died 28 November 1938.
